Gilmour & Aitken enjoys close working relationships with producers of a diverse range of hard and soft woods. We hold significant stocks of over 35 species of tropical and temperate hardwoods, softwoods, profiled and laminated timbers and as part of our chain of custody and UKTR frequently audit them at source even if holding certification. This gives our customers evidence and confidence in source of timber and our frequent delivery around the UK offers confidence in supply for a wide variety of applications.
Joinery Hardwood timbers are offered as rough sawn and if required we can value add the timbers. We offer molded product’s for interior fit out and a full range of laminated timbers. Please click on the boxes for more information.
We offer bespoke cut to specification sawmilling at our yard. Our main marine and civil engineering timbers are Greenheart, Ekki, Opepe, Douglas Fir and Larch. We hold high stocks of each of these timbers.
Gilmour & Aitken is UK’s largest importer and stock holder of Greenheart timber from Guyana. Our on-site sawmills allow us to cut to order, produce precision planed products for the marine and constructional timbers. Our various mills can cut bespoke products of wide and long lengths of timbers, including Greenheart 20 metre lengths.
We supply to a wide range of customers from large tendered public contracts to small bespoke one offs to the railway, oil and gas, sea defence, renewables and ports and harbour sectors.
As we conduct our own due diligence checks we are able to furnish customers with a lot of information about the products and where they are from and we can offer CPDs to specifiers.
