FSC-certified timber can be recognised by its tick-tree logo.  The three FSC Chain of Custody certification schemes guarantee the traceability of timber from sustainably managed sources and timber carrying the FSC logo meets the UK criteria for the purchase of sustainably produced timber.  Other European Union States including Holland, Denmark and Belgium have adopted FSC criteria as a basis for their timber purchasing policy.
