The relatively new concept of the circular economy and its philosophy and ability to create products with end use reuse and recycle in mind, has been alive and well in Greenheart for generations.

D70 Class 1 Greenheart timber is one of the densest and most durable timbers in the world and lasts for decades in its primary end use.  Due to this natural durability and strength, common sense and environmental mindfulness has driven a market for reused Greenheart timbers for landscaping and non structural end use.  Thus giving it a second life in various end uses which will again last several decades.

So when a pier or beach groyne comes to the end of its life structurally, it may look tired, there is still life left in the timbers for the future.

Sustainably managed forests are in a constant state of growth and after felling to the allowable cut is complete, the worked forest parcel is left for 60 years to regrow.   This means that the Greenheart timber products typically live longer than the felling cycle in the forest.
